Wearing the proper compression stockings can help relieve the discomfort caused by varicose veins

What are varicose veins?
Varicose veins occur when the walls of blood vessels weaken and enlarge, causing the valves that ensure blood flows in the veins to fail. Normal valves allow blood to flow in only one direction, from the legs back to the heart. However, if a valve is faulty and does not close completely, blood will flow in the opposite direction when the body is standing. This backflow increases pressure in the veins, causing them to gradually swell and bend over time.

The principle and use of graduated compression stockings
Wearing graduated compression stockings is one way to prevent varicose veins or to prevent them from worsening. Graduated compression stockings must meet the standards of graduated pressure, meaning that the pressure at the ankle is the highest, gradually decreasing upwards, with the lowest pressure at the thigh. This helps improve blood flow back to the legs, relieves fatigue in the lower limbs, and reduces the rate of deterioration of varicose veins.
